I have visited Germany and Austria numerous times. In total I spent more than 1 year of my life in these countries. For some reason when I go to the south of Germany or to Austria, I feel like coming home. I am simply in love with the environment and the friendly people that live there. This summer I again spent 2 weeks in these countries and I revisited some old locations that I had to photograph during better conditions.
First we went to Regensburg, where we were 10 years ago for the first time, but then I made just some lousy snapshots. In Regensburg you can find what is maybe the most photographed tree lane of Germany.
Then we went to Austria, Salzburgerland and Upper Austria, and I visited some places in Berchtesgadener Land. Beautiful photo locations there include the Gollinger Wasserfall, Hintersee, Dienten, and Hallstatt.
The largest glacier in Austria (and the Eastern Alps) is the Pasterze, near the Grossglockner. I visited the glacier several times, already as a kid. Unfortunately, it is melting rapidly but it still is impressive to see.
So in summary: the south of Germany and Austria are just great and you can make some beautiful photos there if you know the locations. :)
